SUGGESTED ACTIVITIES TO INCREASE GRIT:
Any activity guided by a mentor, teacher, coach or other adult that you find challenging, which you can increase your skills over long periods of time, and pursue for many years would be an appropriate activity to increase grit. Examples include: reading, writing, math, science, team sports, fitness, yoga, meditation, art, music, etc. These activities can be professional pursuits or hobbies. Hopefully, you will like it enough to sustain long-term interest and persevere despite setbacks for many years until you complete the 10,000 hours required for mastery. Guidance from mentors, teachers, coaches, etc. should be structured so that you receive ongoing feedback, have challenges or competitions, shows, fairs, etc to participate in, and be in pursuit of some type of long-term accomplishment such as a recognition, award, publication, grant, show or competition. So consider carefully your interests but not your talent. It doesn't matter how bad you are at it now - you will be much better after 5 years of intense practice! And you will be sure to increase your grit!
